Patients emphasize unmet needs in opioid use disorder meeting

Participants highlighted the lack of harm-reduction strategies and non-drug opioid use disorder therapies, along with the need for medications that address more aspects of opioid use disorder including anxiety during a patient-focused drug development meeting held by FDA on Tuesday. Many respondents said that non-opiate based pain medication and non-drug pain management plans are critical for maintaining recovery.
