Inscripta offers emerging CRISPR enzyme for free

Inscripta Inc. (Boulder, Colo.) said on Dec. 13 it will provide its CRISPR enzyme MAD7 free of charge to researchers for R&D use.

Inscripta (formerly Muse Biotechnology Inc.) said it has tested the enzyme in Escherichia coli and yeast, and is testing in mammalian cells. Though Inscripta has not compared MAD7 head to head with flagship endonuclease Cas9, or relative newcomer Cpf1, the company said it has "observed editing efficiencies that are comparable to published results of other nucleases" (see BioCentury Innovations, Oct, 29, 2015)...
