Mouse studies suggest inhibiting HCN2 could help treat pain in diabetic neuropathy. In a mouse model of diabetic neuropathy, the HCN channel inhibitor Corlanor ivabradine or nociceptive neuron-specific knockout of HCN2 decreased mechanical hyperalgesia compared with vehicle or normal HCN2 expression.
