Gorsky reverses course; Trump councils disband
Within minutes of each other on Wednesday, Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) CEO Alex Gorsky changed his decision and resigned from President Trump's White House Manufacturing Advisory Council, while the president said in a tweet that he is disbanding both the manufacturing council and the Strategic and Policy Forum.
J&J spokesperson Samantha Gilham said Gorsky made the decision to resign from the council early on Wednesday, prior to the president's tweet. Gorsky said on Tuesday he planned to remain on the council. The company said Gorsky's reversal was prompted by comments the president made in a press conference on Tuesday, in which he appeared to backtrack on previous scripted remarks condemning white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville, Va., over the weekend. ...
