Hatteras raises $90M toward Fund V

Hatteras Venture Partners raised $90 million in the first close of Hatteras Venture Partners V, which has a target of $150 million. Hatteras will invest the fund in early stage life sciences companies in the southeastern U.S., with 20% of the money earmarked for seed-stage projects and companies.

New LPs Malin Corp. plc (ISE:MLC) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill joined existing Hatteras LPs GlaxoSmithKline plc (LSE:GSK; NYSE:GSK); Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings (NYSE:LH); and Alexandria Venture Investments. Malin said it will invest $15-$20 million in HVP V. ...
