Genome editing play CRISPR secures $25 million

CRISPR Therapeutics AG (Basel, Switzerland) secured $25 million in a series A round from Versant Ventures. CRISPR is using genome editing technology based on the CRISPR (clustered, regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats)-associated bacterial endonuclease Cas9 system to develop therapeutic candidates for serious genetic diseases.
