EU IMI 2 program calls for diabetes, AMD proposals

The EU's Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) 2 launched its first call for proposals with EUR 49 million ($66.9 million) allocated for diabetic retinopathy and dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). IMI 2, which will run from 2014 to 2024, has a total budget of EUR 3.3 billion ($4.5 billion), comprised of EUR 1.6 billion ($2.2 billion) from the EU's Horizon 2020, EUR 1.4 billion ($1.9 billion) from the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and another EUR 213 million ($290.7 million) contributed from other industry associations and partners. ...
