Multigene panels identify non-BRCA cancer risks

A BRCA1) or BRCA2 mutations would receive a change in recommended care after tests including multigene panel screenings revealed they had other damaging mutations.
The study identified deleterious mutations in 63 of more than 1,000 BRCA 1/2-negative patients who met the criteria. The authors said 33 of the 63 would receive recommendations for additional screening and/or preventive measures beyond those based on personal and family history alone. All 20 with mutations considered high-risk under National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines would receive a change in recommended care. ...
