Icahn's five-card draw

A scant few weeks after James Mullen said he would retire this year as president and CEO of Biogen Idec Inc. (NASDAQ:BIIB), Carl Icahn has moved again to gain additional board seats at the company.

After an unsuccessful initial bid to reshape the board in 2008, Icahn succeeded in getting two of his representatives, Alexander Denner and Richard Mulligan, on Biogen Idec's board last year. Now he has nominated another three representatives:Thomas Deuel, Eric Rowinsky and Richard Young...
