New Scottish Equity fund to focus on healthcare IT, medtech, diagnostics

Scottish Equity Partnersis moving ahead with its U.K.- and Ireland-focused investments after closing its fourth fund at £200 million ($308.8 million) at the end of 2011. Like previous funds, the growth equity and venture capital fund SEP IV will be split between healthcare, tech and energy investments.
According to partner Jan Rutherford, about 25% will go to healthcare. She said investments will be split about 50/50 between early and late-stage companies, but about 70% of the cash will be allocated toward later-stage, growth equity investments...
