Wintherix: Wnt-ing Stronger Bones

Wintherix, incubated at Pfizer, hopes to build stronger bones with Wnt activators

Wintherix LLC hopes that by directly activating the Wnt pathway with small molecules, it will be able to produce stronger bone tissue faster than other bone growth and repair approaches that use biologics to go after upstream pathways and targets.

According to CSO John Hood, 5-10% of tibia fractures do not heal within six to eight months, and follow-on fractures in patients with osteoporosis can lead to adverse outcomes. Wintherix hopes that directly activating the Wnt pathway can improve the healing rates of these more serious fractures...
