Bayer, Roche deal

Bayer and Roche's Ventana Medical Systems Inc. tissue diagnostic unit added an undisclosed number of targeted cancer therapies from Bayer to a January 2012 deal to develop, manufacture and commercialize companion diagnostics focused on immunohistochemistry. As part of the expansion, Ventana will create a team with resources exclusively assigned to Bayer projects. Ventana's immunohistochemistry platform will be used for patient selection in clinical trials by analyzing the expression level of undisclosed tumor targets.
