ConjuChem Biotechnologies Inc. relaunched as ConjuChem LLC with Patrick Soon-Shiong as CEO. ConjuChem, which was previously located in Montreal, Quebec, will focus on developing medicines using its Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) and Preformed Conjugate-Drug Affinity Complex (PC-DAC) bioconjugation technologies, which combine peptides with albumin in order to create compounds with similar therapeutic activity but with significantly longer durations of activity and improved safety profiles.

ConjuChem has one compound in clinical development to treat Type II diabetes. Other candidates in the relaunched company's pipeline include a long-lasting insulin derivative, and a fusion inhibitor compound to treat HIV infection. Terms were not disclosed. ...
