Adipose-derived regenerative cells: Additional pilot trial data

Additional data from the double-blind, dose-escalation pilot APOLLO trial in 14 patients with acute MI showed that ADRCs injected directly into the coronary artery significantly reduced mean left ventricular infarct size by 11.2% from baseline to 18 months (p<0.05) compared to a non-significant reduction of 4.4% from baseline to 18 months for placebo. Additionally, ADRCs significantly improved perfusion of the left ventricle from baseline to 18 months (p<0.05), whereas the improvement for placebo was not significant.
