W. Scott Harkonen, former president and CEO of InterMune, was sentenced to three years of probation, with six months of home confinement. He was also ordered pay a $20,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service. In 2009, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California found him guilty of wire fraud related to the promotion of Actimmune interferon gamma-1b (see BioCentury, Oct. 5, 2009). ...
