Actelion nominated two new directors for election to the biotech's board at its annual meeting on May 5. The nominees are Jean-Pierre Garnier, former CEO of GlaxoSmithKline plc (LSE:GSK; NYSE:GSK, London, U.K.); and Robert Bertolini, former CFO of Schering-Plough Corp., now part of Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE:MRK, Whitehouse Station, N.J.). If elected, Garnier would serve as vice chairman and would be appointed chairman after current Chairman Robert Cawthorn's term expires in 2012.
