Actelion nominated two new directors for election to the biotech's board at its annual meeting on May 5. The nominees are Jean-Pierre Garnier, former CEO of GlaxoSmithKline plc (LSE:GSK; NYSE:GSK, London, U.K.); and Robert Bertolini, former CFO of Schering-Plough Corp., now part of Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE:MRK, Whitehouse Station, N.J.). If elected, Garnier would serve as vice chairman and would be appointed chairman after current Chairman Robert Cawthorn's term expires in 2012. The nominees together with three other board members up for re-election would bring Actelion's board to its maximum number, 11. ...
