The Medicines Co. said the U.S. government did not appeal a decision ordering the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) to consider an application for a patent term extension for anticoagulant Angiomax bivalirudin as timely filed. The period for appeal expired last week. In August, the PTO granted a one-year interim extension for the patent after the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia issued the ruling. The patent had been set to expire last March because the company's lawyers missed by one day the deadline to file for an extension. ...
