The Medicines Co. said the U.S. government did not appeal a decision ordering the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) to consider an application for a patent term extension for anticoagulant Angiomax bivalirudin as timely filed. The period for appeal expired last week. In August, the PTO granted a one-year interim extension for the patent after the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia issued the ruling.
