The rate of successful intercourse was significantly increased by use of the MUSE system for male impotence, according to results presented at the meeting of the European Association of Urology in Paris. In a European trial in 159 men and their partners, successful intercourse was reported by 68.7 percent of treated participants compared to 11 percent on placebo (p<0.001).
Study participants had not been able to engage in intercourse for at least three months, and had a mean duration of erectile dysfunction of more than five years. After titrating to an appropriate dose, the participants were randomized into an active or placebo arm and self-administered the agent at home over a three-month period. ...
