GILD and colleagues at the Sunnybrook Health Science Center in Toronto showed that p27, a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor known to be up-regulated by intercellular contact in normal cells, plays a role in the resistance of certain slow-growing tumors to chemotherapeutics.
