The La Jolla, Calif., researchers and colleagues published data showing that the antibody fragment can neutralize more than 75 percent of 36 primary isolates of HIV from human subjects, at concentrations that could be achieved by passive immunization.
The recombinant human antibody to the HIV envelope glycoprotein gp120 was generated from a combinatorial phage display library, with a long-term asymptomatic U.S. male as the donor. The Fab b12 was converted to a whole IgG1 molecule. ...
