CVAS (San Diego) published the discovery of a protein from dog-infesting hookworms that has potential as an anti-inflammatory human therapeutic.

In the Journal of Biological Chemistry, the company showed that the hookworms make neutrophil inhibitory factor (NIF), which suppresses the function of white blood cells. NIF was purified and its gene cloned. ...
