Hyaluronic-acid based drug delivery data

Two of the company's hyaluronic acid-based compounds can treat the damage induced by balloon angioplasty, according to animal data presented at a conference in England sponsored by the company on its HA-based drug delivery technology. Details on the compounds are being withheld pending additional information that will be filed with patent applications, the company said.

In groups of 30 rabbits each, those treated with either of the two compounds showed no reclosure of arteries injured by the angioplasty balloon, while animals given a placebo injection all showed restenosis. ...
