sanofi-aventis said its Shan5 pentavalent vaccine will not return to the market until early 2013 as the company works to address manufacturing issues related to the vaccine. In July, the World Health Organization (WHO) removed Shan5 from its list of pre-qualified vaccines following incidents of sediment sticking to vials.
