Charles River disclosed in its 3Q10 earnings that it will reduce headcount by 300 (4%) to 7,500 to save cash. The layoffs will come from Research Models and Services, Preclinical Services and Corporate functions. The restructuring will include the closure of a leased satellite Preclinical Services facility in Laval, Quebec, consolidation of its Discovery and Imaging Services operation in Michigan with its larger facility in North Carolina and further reductions in discretionary spending. ...
