Charles River Laboratories Inc., Magen, PPD Inc. deal

Charles River will acquire PPD's preclinical cancer service subsidiary, Piedmont Research Center LLC, for $46 million in cash. Charles River said Piedmont's preclinical, in vivo and in vitro services will expand the company's Discovery and Imaging Services unit. The deal is expected to close in 2Q09. ...
