EchoGen ultrasound contrast agent data

SNUS announced that preliminary Phase II studies indicate that EchoGen-enhanced ultrasound appears to be useful in distinguishing malignant from benign breast lesions. In the U.K. trial, 16 patients with abnormal mammograms were examined with EchoGen-enhanced ultrasound, with data from 13 patients available for analysis.

Contrast enhancement of blood flow either surrounding or within the lesions was found in all of the patients, and EchoGen assisted in the diagnosis of all cases. Contrast enhancement or facilitated visualization as a result of the use of EchoGen increased confidence in the diagnosis in 12 patients. EchoGen contrast persisted on average for >7 minutes. ...
