MP4 is a recombinant fusion antigen of both myelin basic protein and proteolipid protein, which are components of the myelin sheath. The proteins are among those that may be attacked by a patient's immune system in the disease. MP4 is designed to induce disease-causing T cells to undergo apoptosis.
