GILD and university researchers published in Science the use of antisense to discover a critical function of the p27Kip1 protein in the cell cycle signaling pathway.
To determine the function of p27Kip1 , researchers inhibited the protein using antisense oligonucleotides and GS 2888, a permeation enhancer that delivers antisense molecules inside cells. By this method, the researchers were able to determine that p27Kip1 is a key link in the progression of the cell cycle. ...
