CTII published preclinical data in Transplantation showing the successful transplantation of xenogenic cells into the central nervous system of another animal species without using immunosuppression and without affecting the host animals’ immune system.
BAC cells encapsulated in polymer membranes were placed into the lumbar intrathecal space in sheep for up to 12 weeks without immunosuppression. All capsules contained viable cells and 20 of 21 devices released norepinephrine. ...
