Micrologix announced that early animal studies show protection from lethal body-wide infection with Staphylococcus aureus. In mice, a single injection of either of two lead compounds, one hour after infection, gave antibacterial protection. Survival eight days after injection was 80 percent and 100 percent for the two compounds, respectively. By contrast, all untreated mice died within 18 hours. ...
