GENZL said its Carticel cartilage replacement service treated 60 patients in 1995 following full launch of the service in July, and had another 189 patient biopsies in process at the close of 1995.

The company said it hopes all 189 cases will complete the process, but noted that some patients yet may elect not to go through with the surgery.
