Cubist, Pfizer deal

The companies will develop antimicrobial agents with activity against drug-resistant pathogens. Pfizer will use its chemical library and high throughput screening to identify lead compounds that inhibit aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases that are not inhibited by existing antibiotic agents. Cubist will provide biomolecular targets and assay systems.
