A trial in 32 patients, some of whom had not responded to interferon, showed that 100 mg of the nucleoside analog eliminated the virus in about one-third of patients, and was well tolerated.
As reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, oral doses of 25, 100, or 300 mg given daily were tested for 12 weeks. Follow-up continued for another 24 weeks. ...
