Sequana Therapeutics, Glaxo Wellcome Inc. deal

The companies expanded their July 1994 collaboration in Type II diabetes to include the study of extreme obesity as a predisposing condition to non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM). The companies will look for NIDDM genes among morbidly obese patients.
