Optimune whey protein concentrate data

BIME's Optim Nutrition Inc. subsidiary announced preliminary data from a six-week study of the nutritional effects of Optimune in AIDS patients, showing that 76 percent of the participants gained weight. Patients received either a 30 or 90 g daily serving of Optimune. Participants had lost at least 10 percent of their ideal body weight and had CD4 counts below 500.

Of 35 patients who entered the study, 29 completed it. Overall, the 29 patients gained an average of 1.5 pounds, with body weight increasing for 22 patients, decreasing for 5 and remaining unchanged in 2 patients. Of the 22 patients who gained weight, the average increase was 3.5 pounds. ...
