Ostex regulatory update

The FDA approved expanded claims for OSTX's Osteomark urinary assay, which measures excretion of cross-linked N-telopeptides of type I collagen as an indicator of bone resorption. The new claims allow physicians to use the Osteomark measurement, if taken prior to the beginning of hormonal anti-resorptive therapy, to predict a patient's response in terms of skeletal bone mineral density. The new claims also include use of the test for monitoring of anti-resorptive therapies in postmenopausal women, as well as individuals diagnosed with osteoporosis and Paget's disease, and for monitoring of estrogen-suppressing therapies. ...
