In yet another facet of the obesity story, researchers showed that they could selectively inactivate the neurotransmitter peptide CCK-8 with TPPII, a protease of previously unknown function. A rationally designed inhibitor of TPPII protected CCK-8 from degradation and reduced food intake in cats, suggesting to researchers that similar compounds may be useful in treating both eating disorders and anxiety. ...
