Protein Polymer, J&J deal

PPTI and J&J's Ethicon subsidiary will develop surgical tissue, adhesives and sealants for wound closure using PPTI's genetically engineered protein polymers. PPTI (San Diego) has an option to manufacture the protein components and some or all of the final products. Ethicon has worldwide marketing rights and will pay R&D costs.
Ethicon paid an $800,000 license fee. The potential value of the deal is $10 million, including milestones, R&D payments and license fees, according to PPTI. ...
