BBIOY (Oxford, U.K.) announced results of Phase I trials of BB-2516 in volunteers, showing safety and adequate absorption.

Thirteen volunteers received doses of 25 to 200 mg or placebo twice daily for a week. Eighteen further participants took the agent twice daily for a week, with tested doses of 50, 100, or 200 mg, or placebo. High blood levels were achieved after a single dose, and the half-life indicated that therapeutic levels may be achieved by twice-daily dosing. ...
