Patent and Trademark Office regulatory update

The PTO reversed its previously stated intention to allow extensions of pharmaceutical patent terms to be continued under the new U.S. law implementing the General Agreements on Tariffs and Trade.
Prior to GATT, patent term extensions were issued to compensate for FDA delays in approving products. Since this provision was enacted in 1984, PTO has issued 195 certificates of patent term extension. ...
