The Charlestown, Mass., company reported Phase II results showing that bromocriptine improved control of blood sugar.
As presented at the Atlanta meeting of the American Diabetes Association, a study of 45 patients with Type II diabetes, who were on a weight-maintaining diet, received 1.6 mg/day of the drug, or placebo, for 12 weeks. The drug-treated group had significantly reduced fasting plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobin (p<0.01 and p<0.04 respectively). ...
