Becton Dickinson's San Jose, Calif., laboratory published a demonstration of its flow cytometric assay, showing detection of cancerous cells in mononuclear cell samples at frequencies as low as 10-7.
As detailed in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the demonstration was made with a breast carcinoma line, BT-20, labeled with fluorescent dye markers and seeded into peripheral blood mononuclear cells. ...
