Urine test for HIV using gp160 HIV envelope protein to detect IgG specific to HIV-1 data

The Berkeley, Calif., company announced that two published reports show that its urine test is as accurate as blood testing for the virus.

Of 547 individuals with negative blood EIA, 26 were positive on the urine EIA, but none were positive by urine WB. The false negative rate was 0 percent, although the investigators pointed out that the number of seropositives, 35, was a small sample. ...
