The Liposome preclinical data

LIPO and collaborators at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia published findings in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that help explain the paradoxical role of prostaglandins in inflammation. The company has found that encasing PGE1 in liposomes induces the anti-inflammatory action of prostaglandins, but does not activate prostaglandin-linked inflammatory mediators.
When rats were injected with endotoxin to induce experimental sepsis, and treated with liposomal PGE1, the prostaglandin allowed all animals to survive the otherwise fatal condition, even in its late stages. Administering PGE1 alone led to increased mortality. ...
