Dismutec PEG-SOD data

OXIS (Portland, Ore.) said initial results of a 463-patient Phase III study of its PEG-SOD, under development by Sanofi Winthrop Inc., suggested a clinical effect but didn't reach statistical significance.
As reported at the October meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in Chicago, the agent was associated with an 18 percent relative increase in the number of patients with severe closed head injury who were rated as "good" or "moderate" on the Glasgow Outcome scale, compared to placebo. Treated patients received an intravenous injection of 10,000 units of Dismutec within eight hours of injury. ...
