Calgene deal

The Davis, Calif., company signed a multiple cross-license agreement with Plant Genetic Systems (Belgium). The agreements resolve several potential patent issues between the two agricultural biotechnology companies.

CGNE received a non-exclusive license to Plant Genetics’ basic patents and patent pending in areas related to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) insect resistance technology for use in cotton.
