MicroGeneSys Inc. deal

Wyeth-Ayerst, a division of American Home Products, initiated the cooperative development of VaxSyn in 1990. The deal involved benchmark payments after the vaccine reached certain clinical and regulatory milestones. In addition, American Home Products made an equity investment in MicroGeneSys in1990.

MicroGeneSys' vaccine has been the focus of controversy since the company successfully lobbied Congress last year to amend the Department of Defense appropriations act so that the Army would receive $20 million to conduct an exclusive trial of VaxSyn. ...
