CEGE (Foster City, Calif.) sued GenPharm (Mountain View, Calif.) in Santa Clara County Superior Court, alleging that GenPharm misappropriated CEGE's technology to develop strains of mice that produce human antibodies.

CEGE charges that GenPharm knowingly received and used information from a scientific advisor alleged to have been previously given the information in confidence by CEGE. The suit also alleges that GenPharm unlawfully filed patent applications covering the technology. Both companies have filed for U.S. patents on the technology. ...
