PRLN (Ithaca, N.Y.) announced that in vitro testing of extracts of the Chinese herb shows inhibition of P34, an enzyme that controls cell division.
In tests against a cell line, one of the compounds (PRLN 27,1) showed a median effective dose of 5µg/mL, in the same range as median effective doses of taxol (3µg/mL) and etoposide (7 µg/mL). Similar data have been obtained in other cancer cell lines in comparison to tamoxifen and cisplatin. ...
