The Kirkland, Wash., company announced that Phase I/II testing resulted in symptomatic improvement in 60 percent of 16 patients enrolled in the open-label trial.
Endoscopy showed that 80 percent had reduced inflammation of the bowel. Two of the patients had Crohn's disease while the others had ulcerative colitis; all had failed conventional therapies. The patients self-administered the compound as a retention enema for up to 12 weeks. ...
